Catwoman - Part 1

No Bucket-Heads that isn't a dominatrix... that's Catwoman...

Here we are Bucket-Heads and welcome to the first movie review of The Bucket. I’m excited typing this up so I hope that you are going to enjoy reading this first review, though at the end I hope you will be as annoyed and as frustrated as I was once I had finished the movie.

So what would be a bad film to kick-start off the Bucket? After putting some thought into it I decided to start off with the very first film I watched that I picked out of the whole list of bad films. I decided that the first of my film reviews will be none other than the terrible Batman spin-off movie: Catwoman.

Not only do we get a bad film but we get probably one of the worst actresses in Hollywood, Ms. Halley Berry. Before we start, I would like to just say that I have always been and always will be a HUGE Batman fan. I love everything about the series. I love the hero as much as I love the villains. When I heard they were making a Catwoman film I thought, “Hmm… it could be good”. When I heard Halley Berry was going to be Catwoman I thought, “No… the movie is going to suck”. Oh boy, was I right. How I was right.

As I mentioned in my welcome page, if you have read it, I'll be looking at approximately five aspects or the five worst features of a film that I will watch. I also stated that there could be more than five aspects... and I think this film might be the case. Let's dive into the Bucket with the first worst aspect of the film:

THERE IS NO BATMAN!!!

A lot of you probably don't even care and are thinking;

"It's about Catwoman not Batman!"

True, but Batman is a big deal. Not to mention that this there is no mention what-so-ever of anything from Batman university, which Catwoman is part of. The only tiny bit of reference is a two second shot of Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman in Batman Returns. Ahh... now THAT was a great Catwoman. Anyway, moving on.

So no mention of Batman, nor is the movie set in Gotham City. Another thing that really annoyed me was the name of the character. Catwoman in this bucket of crap is called PATIENCE PHILLIPS. The REAL name of Catwoman is SELINA KYLE. I don't know how they even screwed this up. So what's the point to this? All of this information comes from not even the first five minutes of the movie. If I, and I'm sure thousands of Batman fans did, pick out factual errors of a BATMAN SPIN OFF MOVIE, you know where this one is headed.

Tune in next time for the next part of our Catwoman series, where we're going to be looking at probably one of the most annoying, and highly overly horny, characters in any film, being Catwoman's best friend Sally. And you can all look forward to more horror tales from this including some of the worst one liners in a film, ever.

God... I really hate this movie.

Batman: "We're too late old chum. Catwoman has left Gotham for... New York."
Robin: "Holy, wait... what the hell is a New York?"

I'm old enough to remember Adam West and Burt Ward as the Dynamic Duo and so I also remember Julie Newmar as Catwoman. I think Halley Berry may have topped her. I still miss Gotham City, tho!

I'm a huge fan of the old school Batman series as well. They had some good Catwomen but in my opinion Michelle Pfeiffer takes the cake. I'll be talking more about this version of Catwoman in the up-coming days though
