I thought I would remain you all again before I begin the Quotes section for this movie that the corpse has no arms and legs. That and I didn't have a picture to accompany this post for today.
Quotes, I got them and you want them! I should give you all a heads up though some of these quotes may seem pretty stupid but you need to see this movie to hear these bad actors belt them out. So let’s move on!
QUOTES FROM BUGS!!!
“But sir someone died in that tunnel we can’t go ahead with the party!” - Sir Idiot
“I don’t care about the dead body! I only care that it happened in MY tunnel!” – Mr. A.
Remember Sir Idiot is Mr. A’s top engineer and Mr. A is the rich asshole who runs the company with an iron fist. It was pretty funny watching this scene seeing Mr. A clench his fist when he said his line like he was some dictator. As mentioned in previous posts you got to love it when movies depict rich people as the world’s most ruthless people alive. This guy cares more about his tunnel than the family of a dead person so that’s pretty bad ass in my opinion.
“Keep your eyes open in that tunnel. These bugs are aggressive, fast and strong.” – Agent Pollack.
“These bugs will stop at nothing to feed. They have enhanced strength and move as fast as the speed of light.” – Emily Foster.
I mentioned this in yesterday’s post but there is no harm in mentioning this again. In fact this is the full quote that was said or what I can remember about it since the movie was so bad I was paying more attention to the fly on my wall. Pollack, that’s the agent’s name and not the racial slur remember, just told everyone what the bugs were like so why did Emily need to tell them all the same thing? What makes it more annoying is the fact that we were told these bugs move faster than the speed of light yet in the movie these are the slowest bugs I’ve ever seen. If you’re going to write in your script that the bugs are extremely fast please have it match with what is going on in the movie. Speaking of people repeating themselves here’s another example when everyone is examining the dead body for the first time.
“Looks like the body was torn apart. Poor guy’s arms and legs were ripped off.” – Some Officer.
“The body appears to have had its arms and legs cut apart and chopped up.” – Some Coroner.
“Something sharp cut these legs and arms off.” – Emily Foster.
Alright for crying out loud we KNOW that there is a dead body WITHOUT legs and arms so why the hell do we need to hear three different people tell us what we already know? This really annoyed me when I was watching the movie and it seemed to be a common theme throughout the film. It was like everyone had to constantly inform us about something that we already knew as if we were too stupid to remember it. We’re not stupid; if we see someone without legs and arms we are going to assume that something sharp cut them off.
“I want you to stay on this train.” – SWAT Leader.
“Why? I need to be out there.” – SWAT Leader’s girlfriend.
“No I couldn’t live with myself if something bad were to happen to you, and I don’t want anything to happen to you.” SWAT Leader.
Give me a damn break! For crying out loud here is something else that I really cannot stand about movies. They have people who work as cops or SWAT members or soldiers for example and they are scared about the risks. Ok, I can understand these professions are extremely dangerous so one might be slightly scared but I know for a fact that these guys put it all in the back of their minds when they go do their job since it would effect them if they were in a dangerous situation.
Here we have some SWAT leader who is trying to protect his girlfriend from danger when she knows the danger involved. I HATE it when people won’t let other people do what they are meant to be doing simply because the risks are too high. It’s their job! They know the risks involved! This annoys me so much!
“What’s the difference if they can fly? They can run 20 miles an hour!” – Garcia.
There’s a big difference if something can fly you idiot. When you fly you can pretty much move all over the place reaching spots that you can’t reach on foot, hence making a situation like this dangerous if these bugs get out of the tunnel. Now let’s look at the second half of the quote. We were told earlier by Emily that these bugs move as fast as the speed of light which is pretty damn fast. If you don’t know how fast that is I have undertaken some research and concluded that the speed of light is 1,079,252,848.8 km/h. This is no joke by the way THAT is how fast it is. If you’re American and haven’t corrected your measurements to the rest of the world 1,079,252,848.8 km/h is 299,792,458 m/s. 20 miles an hour is no the speed of light, Emily Foster should have her bug expert license removed for making up rubbish.
“They’re dead!” – Emily Foster.
“How do you know that?” – Agent Pollack.
“They aren’t moving!” – Emily Foster.
After seeing a huge pile of dead bugs Emily makes sure that everyone knows they are all dead since Pollack is too stupid to see it for himself. However if she were smart she would be more careful since not everything that doesn’t move IS dead. What if those bugs were just hibernating, you know, like Emily said all the bugs in the mountain were before they were activated? I wish the bugs weren’t dead and woke up at the same time to that these two idiots would be ripped apart.
“Something’s coming down that tunnel!” – Garcia.
“Calm down man! What is it!?” – Agent Pollack.
“…DEATH!” – Garcia.
I chuckled when I hear this. Garcia is going insane since he is the last surviving member of the SWAT team and start freaking out. I love that pause, the dramatic stare he gives Pollack before opening his mouth and just shouting “DEATH!”. It’s nice to know that with his busy schedule that the Grim Reaper has time to come and visit our friends in the tunnel. Yeah I know that was pretty lame so sue me. I guess Garcia was right though as he would run in with the queen bug who was coming down the tunnel at that moment and he would die a painful death.
“Where’s Mr. A?” – Sir Idiot.
“He didn’t make it.” – Agent Pollack.
“Oh? He couldn’t bribe the bug!?” – Sir Idiot.
That’s SO funny! See Sir Idiot hates Mr. A as he tends to bribe everyone to ignore or forget things like the huge bug nest that was discovered while construction for his tunnel began. When Sir Idiot asks if Mr. A couldn’t bribe the bug I think we were all meant to laugh about it but at this point of the movie all I care about is when this piece of crap is going to end. Saying that let’s finish off our quotes page with the closing lines of the movie.
“I think I’ll go back to my office and file this case. Afterwards I think I might go north and take up snowboarding. I’ve always been interested in that.” - Agent Pollack.
“I’ll help teach you.” – Emily Foster.
“And I’ll help to both to learn about DEATH!” – Mr. Bucket Head. *Grabs his shotgun and blows both idiots away*
Alright so I made up the last part but seriously go back and read the closing lines of the movie without my added part. Yeah that’s what I thought you’d think that I actually made the movie end better. Seriously how the hell can you end off a movie with someone’s interest in snowboarding? How the HELL does that any relevance at all to the events that just happened? They should have at least locked up in a kiss like most action movies used to end in the 90’s but they decided to go with Pollack’s interest in snowboarding. I wish the bad guys would win in most films, I really wish they would.
That’s all for the quotes from this movie. I would have added more but that would just involve me copying and pasting the entire script. Tomorrow we’re going take a look at an old post about survival and apply it to this movie. Let’s see if these idiots listed to my wise words I how to survive a journey when one has to risk their life in order to save the world.
